A 4-post lift like our 8,000 lb cable drive model is better suited for long-term storage, heavier trucks, and garages where you want to stack vehicles vertically. Consider your ceiling height and primary use case before choosing.
Most of our car lifts are designed with the home garage installer in mind and include detailed setup documentation. That said, we always recommend having at least two people during installation and consulting a qualified technician if you're anchoring to a concrete slab or working with electrical hookups like the 120-volt power unit on our portable lift. Safety during setup protects both you and your vehicle.
Our 4-post lift reaches a maximum working height that requires adequate overhead clearance for both the lift structure and the vehicle on top. A standard two-car garage ceiling at 10 feet is often sufficient for most passenger vehicles, but we recommend measuring your ceiling height and comparing it against the product specs before purchasing.
